Walking in South West France

While our ‘holiday retreat’ is aimed at helping people enjoy their cars, and drive the wonderful roads around the Dordogne, Haute-Vienne and Corrèze, there are also plenty of opportunities for walking and enjoying the countryside. It’s really easy to do both in one day, by driving to some lovely locations for a hike. Being on the border of these three lovely departments gives our guests plenty of scope to enjoy what each has to offer.

Vigeois

We have found an excellent website (courtesy of Haute-Vienne Tourisme) providing over 200 hiking trails. These range from very easy to difficult, short to long, flat to hilly terrain, suitable for walking or biking. All of them have the common goal of helping you enjoy the unspoiled nature, discover ancient villages and traditional heritage.

The interactive map on the website is excellent, with clear routing and descriptions, and print facilities. For the more tech savvy a mobile app is available (Loopi GPS) in the French Apple or Play store. As usual we’re always happy to print out information for guests during their stay with us.

Check out the Haute-Vienne website at www.tourisme-hautevienne.com to see what’s on offer just minutes from Bonnes Routes.
